Post-metal is generally thought of as being defined by a set of tropes, but in the case of Itself Timeless, it would be better defined as it being the point of departure.
Reaching for sounds and emotions beyond those typical of this genre, on their new EP, 'α', they aim towards something universal: the essence of being human. It is from the dichotomy between pain, isolation, abandonment, hate and courage, self-determination, ambition, resilience, that a singular vision, that something bigger than its members, that a sense of purpose – that Itself Timeless – is born.
